Looking for a new indie brand that’s as ethical and practical as it is pretty?

Enter Seraphine Botanicals.  Their mission is to create products sustainably and responsibly, using fair trade ingredients. All of their products are cruelty free and free from parabens, dyes, petroleum, triclosan, and a whole bunch of other less familiar evils.  If you’re looking to migrate your makeup bag towards vegan and cruelty free products, Seraphine Botanicals has a wealth of options to offer.

My first introduction to Seraphine Botanicals was similar to a lot of people’s, it seems—I received their Ginger + Gold Peach and Gold Frosting Blush in an ipsy bag over a year ago.   Most of my ipsy experience was lackluster, unexciting, and immediately regifted or relegated to my unused makeup box; but this blush was immediately different.

Ginger + Gold Peach & Gold Frosting Blush
$14

Let the record show that I hate using blush. It’s one of my least favorite makeup products and I have never owned more than one at a time. The one I do own is usually this $3 elf blush that I keep around only for hangover or cold emergencies to make me look a little less like a walking corpse. I always seem to struggle to walk the line between “Why did I even apply this? You can’t even see it” and straight up clown makeup.

This shade applies sheer enough to not look too harsh, but you can layer it up as much as you like and it becomes gently more saturated. There’s also the smallest amount of shimmer in the formula that makes my skin look super glowy without looking glittery. It also has a super light, fresh scent that’s pleasant without triggering a migraine.

This particular product is also a multipurpose powerhouse. I have used it almost everywhere on my face, from the apples of my cheeks to my cheekbones, inner corner highlight, and eyelids/browbones.   The subtle, warm color is surprisingly flattering, even on my olive skin. I recently hit the pan on this one and so I added….uh, every other shade to my wish list.  The obsession is really real.

Particularly this Daisy + Pearl.  Look at that shimmer!

And at $14 a pop, I may eventually end up with them all! Granted it’s not a $3 blush pan, but for the product quality, it’s absolutely more than worth it.
